MALLIE LORING PRATT

Mallie Pratt grew up between Duxbury, MA and Northeast Harbor, ME and continually draws inspiration from the volatile Maine coastline. She earned her BFA from Rhode Island School of Design in 2009, with a thesis focused on the relationship between individuals and their natural environments. This line of research lead her to the Harvard Graduate School of Design to study Landscape Architecture for a summer, and subsequently to work for Brooklyn-based design firm Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates.

Missing the inquisitive nature and hands-on atmosphere of the studio environment, Pratt made the switch in 2012 to teaching Art at Shore Country Day School in Beverly, MA. She is currently creating paintings and prints from her home studio, and just recently moved to Essex, MA. In 2013, Pratt started her stationery design line, MLP Studio.

Her work has been featured at the RISD Museum and is in private collections in California, New York, and throughout New England.
